Functional Materials: Understanding the Chemistry and Physics of Solids
About this lesson

In this lecture we take a closer look at the structures of ionic solids. This overview is based on the idea of filling octahedral and tetrahedral holes with cations in a close packed array of anions, so-called eutectic structures. This lecture was designed and delivered by Patrick Woodward for use in the course Solid State Chemistry (Chem 7330) at Ohio State University.
