Welcome to the Research Trove platform, which we just launched!
The platform has been designed to be very intuitive, so you should be able to find your way around without any difficulty. In any case, we would like warmly to invite you to a guided tour of the platform, as well as an opportunity to have a chat with the founder about tech entrepreneurship in research.
In these fireside-chat-style online meetings, we will walk you through how to create an effective profile, to help you find collaborators. We will also show you how to create, manage and use groups and discussion forums. We will also guide you on how to make effective posts on the Activity Feed (also known as the News Feed, or the Feed), to give updates on your research to the research community (like in Linked-In, Facebook or Twitter).
We will also show you how to search and list opportunities. For example, you can use Research Trove like Eventbrite: you can list events, create and (optionally) sell tickets through our platform. We also have job boards if you are recruiting PhD and post-doc positions. Other listing platforms such as findaphd.com and jobs.ac.uk charge a significant amount per listing but in Research Trove, this is free. All of this can be done yourself by filling in a user-friendly form, and the platform will list it automatically.
In addition to events and job listings, you can also list opportunities for speakers (those looking to talk about their research and those looking to find speakers), services, consulting and funding calls.
You can ask any questions you may have directly to the founder, and if you have any feature suggestions that you would like to see in the future, you can discuss them here.
These meetings will take place every Friday at 5:30 to 6:30 pm BST. We will use the HD video call functionality in Research Trove, which we’re sure you will love using with your groups and collaborators.
See you there!
